The Past
Hi, my name is Elliot Stombaugh, and I’m from the good old Midwest. I used to take good pictures with my camera. Then I discovered the broader scope of editing photos with software manipulation. Now, my pictures are excellent. So, could you please purchase my beautiful art? I would really appreciate that. Thank you.
You probably thought, “Whatever. This sounds like every other photographer vying for my attention,”—except maybe a bit weirder. Then, just as soon, you’ll leave my website, forgetting that you ever visited.
So, let’s try this again!
I didn’t fully understand my camera at first so I learned how to use its functions. Then, I practiced my newfound knowledge until it became furrows, deeply ingrained into my brain by means of continuous practice. But it wasn’t until after I discovered advanced software manipulation techniques that I thought I was ready to launch a business—supported only by my unique artistic style. And people would appreciate my style—because it was like no one else’s!
But that didn’t work, for some reason. What I needed was something more. More than the ability to create beautiful art. More than my own artistic style. And especially more than just an online presence. What I needed was a reason. A reason that I was excited about, and that could make others excited too.
Art with a Purpose
Make art more meaningful, by creating with intent. Art should be created for a reason – solely for the purpose of beauty is not a good enough reason. Then, for maximum impact, revealing that intent with a contextual title or description.
However, I am not the only artist. I want you also to become a better artist.
So, my purpose is dual:
1. Helping people enjoy art by revealing the intent.
2. Helping artists achieve success by showing them how to create with clear intent.
P. S.
Fun Facts:
1. I got my car from Hawaii, so I was driving around the Midwest for awhile with the Hawaii license plate still on before I got it changed.
2. Pudding is disgusting.
3. Spice is not only categorized by heat (Scoville units), but also by flavor. Cayenne is my favorite flavor.
4. I studied Mandarin Chinese in high school.
The conversion of disorganized matter into a usable form requires the depletion and transfer of accessible energy into an inaccessible form. In short: Organized products don’t just appear out of thin air. They were created by someone who’s expended energy will never be recovered. So, if you like what you see, please consider donating to support the depletion and unrecoverable expenditure of my energy (and time). 🙂 Thank You
